Leave Credit Rules

Leave Credit Rules are those rules which defines when and how the leaves will be credited to the employees account. Leave credit rules are different for different Leave types which the organization provides to their employees.

Inputs Needed

  • Leave types configuration.
  • Post Type configuration.
  • Leave Applicability should be defined.
  • Leave Cycle configuration. For Eg: 1st January 2020 to 31st Dec 2020

Terminology Used

  1. Pro-rata - Pro-rata indicates that leaves will be credited in a proportionate manner as per organization's leave policy.
  2. Pro-rata as per working days - Pro-rata as per working days indicates that leaves will be credited in a proportionate manner after employee completes a defined number of working days in the organization.
  3. Leave Cycle - A "leave cycle" means a period of 12 months commencing from the 1st day of employment or commencing from the end of the previous leave cycle.

Functionality

  • Leave credited at the beginning of the cycle. For Eg: Casual Leaves will be credited on 1st Day of the leave cycle.
  • On contrary Earned leaves are to be credited at the end of the cycle. Thus Earned leaves will be credited on the last day of the leave cycle.
  • Next Leave Cycle indicates that a particular leave type will not be credited in the current leave cycle, but in the next leave cycle. For Eg: Earned Leave will be credited on the 1st day of the immediate next leave cycle.
