Resignation

Resignation is the termination of employment initiated by the employee. That is, the employee voluntarily decides to end their employment and clearly communicates that decision to the employer. An employee can apply for his resignation through the system if the resignation policy is configured at Institute Level. In this particular section we will discuss about the Resignation Policy configuration and its overall functionality.

Inputs Needed

  • Organizations Resignation Policy.
  • Department wise, post wise resignation policy.

Terminology Used

  • Resignation - Resignation is the termination of employment initiated by the employee.

Functionality

  • Resignation process starts from Staff / Faculty Admin and with the Leave Admin.
  • Employee can initiate his/her termination of employment through staff / faculty admin.
  • Employee fills the details and send a resignation request to the Manager which will then be accepted/declined by the Manager.
  • However at the very initial stage, the resignation policy should be configured through the Head Admin.
  • The resignation policy needs to be defined for all post types. The key components of resignation policy are stated below:
  1. Post Type
  2. Resignation not permitted for.(Can be defined in number of months / years)
  3. Notice Period. (Can be defined in number of months / years)
  4. Leaves allowed during Notice Period. Eg: During the notice period Medical / Sick leaves can be availed only. Employee will not be eligible for availing any other leave.
  5. Other Resignation Rules if any.Eg: In case of disciplinary actions or any other genuine situation, the employee may not serve the notice period. Prior Approval for the same needs to be granted by the management.
  6. For relieving letter, No objection can be received from various admins. Eg: In case of Employee No objection can be received from Leave and Finance Admin.
  • All the above listed components needs to be specified in order to create resignation Policy.
