Topic Submission by Guide

The student admitted to a Ph.D. programme shall submit a research proposal in the prescribed format,through his guide and the respective HoD.The research proposal should consist of the topic of research and a broad outline of the work to be carried out.

  • As a Guide,he/she can Suggest or offer Topic to the candidate for Research.Once Topic is submitted by Guide, it will be sent to the HOD/Research committee to scrutinize the proposal with respect to the Topic of research and the scope of research and approve it.
  • After approval of HOD/Research committee, candidate will be able to choose a topic from the approved research topic.

Pre-requisites

  • Guide allocation must be done in Thesis Evaluation
  • Candidate should have submitted the Synopsis

Terminologies Used

  • Guide : Guide shall mean a member of the academic staff of the University/Constituent Unit, who guide/supervise the research work of the candidate.
  • HOD : Head of the Department
  • Dean : The head of a university faculty or department.
  • Referee : A referee is someone who has been given the responsibility of evaluating the suitability of thesis and the candidate for the award of PG and Ph.d.
  • Convocation Year : Convocation means a large, formal meeting, esp. for the ceremony at a university at the end of a course of study.We can define period to identify candidate who have registered or accomplished their Synopsis & Thesis in defined Convocation Year.

Functionality

1) Approve

  • Based on student submission One PDF file will be generated and shown in Pending tab which Guide can evaluate and decide to approve or Send back.Once it is approved by Guide it will be sent for approval to the HOD.

2) Add/Suggest Referee

  • If guide choose to approve candidates submission then he/she can suggest referee by accepting declaration of evaluation Rules of Synopsis & Thesis.
  • Guide will be able give priority to Referee which will be considered in sending invitation after finalized referees by dean.

3) Send back to Students

  • Guide can send back submission with Remark to the candidate in case of any suggestion or changes required.
  • If Guide choose an option of send back to students, candidate will be able to make the required changes and resubmit it.After re-submission by candidate, it will be sent for approval to the guide again.

4) Guide will able to check approved,pending and send back candidate details in separate tab for Master & Ph.d

5) Guide will able to check approval status of other authorities and can communicate with respective authorities to take further action.
